This medication is used by people with a certain heart problem (chronic heart failure), to help prevent it from getting worse and needing treatment in a hospital. Heart failure is a condition where your heart does not pump blood as well as it should. Ivabradine works by making your heart beat more slowly.
Ivabradine, marketed under the trade name Corlanor among others,[1] is a medication used for the symptomatic management of stable heart-related chest painand heart failure not fully managed by beta blockers.[2] Ivabradine acts by reducing the heart rate via specific inhibition of the pacemaker current, a mechanism different from that of beta blockers and calcium channel blockers, two commonly prescribed antianginal drugs. Ivabradine is a cardiotonic agent.
