Tribenzor (olmesartan medoxomil, amlodipine, hydrochlorothiazide) is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, alone or with other antihypertensive agents, to lowerblood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions.
Olmesartan medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist which is used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It was developed by Sankyo in 1995, and is sold under the trade name Benicar, among others. An ester prodrug, it is completely and rapidly hydrolyzed to the active acid form, olmesartan.
